ACT 1 TAX SHIFTING REFERENDUM LAMPETER-STRASBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT
Do you favor imposing an additional .9% earned income tax? The revenue generated from the increased tax rate will be used to reduce property taxes on qualified residential properties. The reduction is estimated to be $434 in 2007, $590 in 2008 and $621 in 2009. The current earned income tax rate is 1%. If approved, the new earned income tax rate will be 1.9%; 0.5% levied by the municipality and 1.4% levied by the District.
